Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the Terms) govern access to and use of the DOLPHI memorial website (the Site).

The Site commemorates the victims of the attack at the Tel Aviv Dolphinarium on 1 June 2001 and serves remembrance, public information, and peaceful commemoration.

By using the Site, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Definitions

Site — the online resource comprising software, design, and content published under the DOLPHI domain.

User — any person accessing the Site.

Materials — texts, photographs, audio and video, graphics, page structure, and other content on the Site.

Administration — persons responsible for organizing and maintaining the Site.

2. Purpose

The Site is a non-commercial memorial and informational resource. Materials are published to preserve memory, inform the public, and support peaceful commemoration.

Content on the Site does not constitute legal, medical, psychological, or other professional advice.

3. Access and changes

The Site is provided on an “as is” basis within technical limits. Uninterrupted operation on every device or browser is not guaranteed.

The Administration may change structure, design, or content, restrict access for maintenance, or discontinue sections without prior notice where permitted by law.

4. Intellectual property

Exclusive rights to Materials created by or lawfully provided to the Administration belong to the respective rights holders. Trademarks and logos are protected under applicable law.

Third-party Materials (witness accounts, archival records, artworks) are used on lawful grounds; rights remain with their owners.

Users receive a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to view Materials for personal, non-commercial remembrance and study, unless otherwise stated on the Site or agreed with the rights holder.

5. Acceptable use

When using the Site, you agree to:

— respect the memory of victims and the dignity of survivors and families;

— not misrepresent Materials or present them as your own without proper attribution;

— not use the Site to promote violence, extremism, discrimination, defamation, hatred, or unlawful purposes;

— not disrupt the Site (including unauthorized access, malware, or automated scraping that imposes unreasonable load).

Quotation in media, research, or education is permitted with attribution and compliance with copyright and personality rights laws.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

— copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display Materials for commercial purposes without rights-holder consent;

— modify the Site’s code, design, or databases;

— use Materials in a way that degrades the dignity of victims, survivors, or their families;

— engage in conduct that violates applicable law, third-party rights, or these Terms.

7. Third-party links

The Site may link to external resources. The Administration does not control their content and is not responsible for their privacy practices, accuracy, or consequences of following such links.

8. Disclaimer

Materials are based on available sources and testimony; the Administration seeks accuracy but does not warrant completeness, currency, or error-free content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Administration is not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from use or inability to use the Site, except where liability cannot be limited by mandatory law.

9. Personal data

Processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Use of the Site implies that you have reviewed that Policy.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Russian Federation, subject to mandatory international rules where applicable.

Disputes should first be addressed through contact at privacy@dolphi.org. If unresolved, disputes may be submitted to a competent court as provided by Russian procedural law.

For Russian-speaking users, the Russian-language version of these Terms may prevail in case of inconsistency with translations.

11. Changes

The Administration may update these Terms. The current version is published on this page. Last updated: 31 May 2026.

Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.
